A true "dark horse," the first time this blend was roasted it was a mistake.

The roaster intended to make Show Pony but put the wrong blend of beans in the roaster.

Realizing our mistake, we figured we might as well cup it anyway to see how it tasted. It turned out wonderful! Full, robust, classic and it filled a void we had in our line-up for a more developed espresso blend to complement Show Pony.

It’s since become one of our most popular whole bean coffees proving that there are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.

We've since refined this blend to be nice and sweet, full-bodied and incredibly drinkable. It's the perfect coffee if you like the classic coffee profile, but want the refinement and quality of specialty grade coffee beans without any hint of bitterness or defect.

Dark Horse is what happens when the highest quality specialty coffee is used to create a classic, crowd-pleasing cup of coffee.
