Cool Off with Smoking Gun's Iced Coffee Slush Recipe

In just a few easy steps you can have a delicious iced coffee drink that's even better than an iced capp from Timmy's (no shade) and it's vegan!

That's right, you can have it all this Summer. At our Chilliwack coffee shop, we use a pretty fancy industrial slush machine. It churns our the slush all Summer long and people love it! The good news is, you don't need industrial cafe equipment or get the job done. All you need is a blender, your favourite Smoking Gun Coffee and a couple of ingredients.

Smoking Gun Coffee's Iced Coffee Slush Recipe

1 Litre of Concentrated Coffee

  • use the same amount of coffee beans, but half the amount of water you would normally use to brew the coffee.
  • store in fridge to cool down.

500ml of Oat Mylk

125ml of Vanilla Simple Syrup

  • syrup recipe is 1 part water (65g) to 1 part white sugar (65g) and a teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla paste.


Preparation Instructions:

Brew the Coffee Concentrate:
Start by brewing your coffee. Use your favorite Smoking Gun Coffee beans, but only half the amount of water you would normally use. This creates a strong coffee concentrate. Once brewed, let it cool to room temperature and then store it in the fridge until it's cold.

Prepare the Vanilla Simple Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts of water and white sugar. Heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or vanilla paste for flavor. Let it cool before use.

Blend Everything Together:
In a blender, combine 1 litre of your chilled coffee concentrate, 500ml of oat milk (or your preferred milk), and 125ml of vanilla simple syrup. Blend until smooth.

Serve and Enjoy:
Pour your iced coffee slush into a glass and enjoy! You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less vanilla syrup according to your taste. For an extra treat, try it with espresso – 5-6 shots will do the trick.

Tips for the Perfect Iced Coffee Slush:

Storage: You can make a large batch of brewed coffee and store it in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. This way, you can quickly whip up a slush whenever you crave one.

Customization: Feel free to experiment with flavors. Add a dash of cinnamon, a spoonful of cocoa powder, or a splash of caramel syrup for a unique twist.

Consistency: If you prefer a thicker slush, add a handful of ice cubes to the blender. Blend until you reach your desired consistency.
