This single-origin whole bean coffee from Guatemala is the sweet, nutty medium roast coffee we all need this Winter. Plus, it's organic!

We're stoked to introduce our first new single-origin whole bean coffee of 2024! It took us a few tries to get this one just right.

The first test roast turned out nice and rich, but there was a hint of citrus that we could just barely taste that we wanted to tease out a bit more. So, Brandon asked the roasters to try it at a slightly lighter profile to see what we could dig up.

After a couple of more tries, the roastery team presented a single origin that was nutty and rich, yet still nice and bright with a beautiful sweetness. And the aroma is incredibly unique. It was a bit of funk on the nose, that doesn't appear in the tasting profile.

ABOUT THE GROWERS

San Antonio Atitlan Coffee Producers Association belongs to the Quiche, Caqchiquel and Tz'tuhil ethnic groups, a cultural diversity that allows coffee cultivation based on the Mayan worldview. The co-op has been able to invest in a school as well as medical and dental care for its members.

It operates in a special microclimate as it forms part of the Sierra Madre mountain range and the central highlands with soils of rich volcanic origin and inhabits a popular route for migratory birds.

It has atmospheric nitrogen-fixing shade trees and the biodiversity contribution of native exotic flora and fauna.

It's a very unique coffee that we love on a drip brewer, but it also makes a nice nutty espresso with a pop of brightness that compliments steamed milk or steamed milk alternatives well. This coffee is one of our "Seasonals" which means it'll be around for a while, but not forever. Give it a try while you can!
