We were stoked to get our hands on this Ethiopian coffee from the revered Kayon Mountain Estate Farm and we think you’ll love it too!
Huge notes of blueberry and strawberry dominate the flavour profile of this coffee. We also get some nice floral notes and it reminds us of lemon candy on the finish. It’s REALLY great as an iced coffee too.
The Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm was established in 2012 to produce top-quality coffee in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. The farm is situated in the southern part of Ethiopia in the Oromia region, Guji Zone, about 500 kilometres from the capital city, Addis Ababa. The farm is privately owned by Ato Esmael and his family.
This coffee will be around for a little while as a replacement for our usual Ethiopia Yirgacheffe and we are very excited to have it in the rotation. It’s quite similar to our Yirg - big notes of juicy blueberries and floral aroma - but it’s from the famed Kayon Mountain Estate. It packs notes of blueberry that many Ethiopian coffees are known (and loved) for and if you’re a fan of our Yirg, let us know what you think of this one!
