Sweet, funky and just a little bit spicy! You gotta love anything that's described like that and we sure do love this limited lot coffee from El Salvador.

Cupping this coffee was an absolute delight! It comes across as very sweet with big notes of tropical pineapple that has a beautiful pine undertone. Sweet, mellow honeydew and mouthwatering caramel round out our tasting notes. We also tasted a hint of something spicy - like nutmeg or cinnamon. It's subtle, but it comes through!

It's a fun everyday sipper and it works beautifully as an iced coffee with the subtle notes coming through as it cools. Maybe add a twist of citrus or splash of tonic water for a nice Summer drink? Don't be afraid to experiment!

About the Producers

This community blend is composed of lots from various washed coffees. After around 24 hours of dry fermentation, cherries are washed, and sun-dried on clay patios and raised beds for approx. 16 days.

The Community Project is the inspiration of the El Borbollon mill, owned and operated by fourth-generation producer Eduardo Alvarez. Focused on small growers in the mill area with the potential to cultivate high-quality lots and the desire to pursue a sustainable model of production, the project launched with a roster of 25 farmers with an average of 5 hectares at high altitude on the lush hills of Santa Ana, one of the main growing areas in El Salvador. The project has since expanded to include 100 farmers.

El Borbollon was able to launch a collaboration that ensured greater returns and better conditions for  the producers involved in the Community Project.

This is a very special coffee that we sourced from our friends at Catalogue Coffee. As such we were only able to secure a limited amount. It should be around for a few months, but not forever! We highly recommend trying this one out if you like dynamic light roast coffee.
