Huge notes of sweet cherry and earthy cacao nibs dominate this wonderful Colombian coffee.

When we brew this staple coffee, the aroma of cherry is unmistakable. It’s incredible! On the palette, there’s a ton of sweetness and some nice earthy chocolate notes that remind us of raw cocoa or cacao nibs. Whatever you taste, expect a lot of sweetness.

This Colombian coffee is from the Cundinamarca region in central Colombia - the mountainous area surrounding Bogota. The name “Excelso” refers to the grade of bean, which is large and only slightly smaller than the “Supremo” bean. This allows a superior quality coffee bean with an attractive price point to make this an approachable and accessible everyday coffee.

Brandon recently visited this region of Colombia and it has given all of us here at SG a newfound appreciation for Colombian coffee. We recently cupped this one and even the light-roast drinkers appreciated the full, dynamic flavour profile of this delightful coffee. We hope you’ll love it too!

We recommend this for a nice robust filter coffee and it pairs incredibly well with milk or milk alternatives. It can also make a very bold, full-bodied espresso.
