We are especially stoked on this coffee as it represents the beginning of a direct relationship with a farmer in Colombia.

Colombian coffee is the backbone of our coffee program. We use it in many of our blends and often have it as a single origin offering as well. It's such an important part of our offering that we have partnered with an exclusive Colombian coffee farming association, Madre Maria, with the help of our friend at  Catalogue Coffee:

"The Association Madre Maria was formed by a small group of producers looking to work together to standardize their coffee and offer it as a Community Blend. What started as an association of 5 farmers has grown to over 55 small producers. Campesino Coffee was introduced to the association in 2022 and has worked hard with the association to help tighten Quality Control protocols and offer their coffee to new import partners around the globe."

After harvesting, the coffee cherries undergo 14-16hours of fermentation, washed, then sun-dried. Sun dried for 15-20 days. This produces a lot of sweetness, but also brings out some of the fruitier notes of this coffee. There's almost a slight citrus note. That's why we roasted this one on the medium spectrum - to pull out as much of those nuances as possible. On the palette, it's nice and buttery with a very clean finish.

Brandon visited this region of Colombia and it has given all of us here at SG a newfound appreciation for Colombian coffee.

We are very happy to be working directly with the Madre Maria Association and we love the way this coffee is tasting. We hope you love it too!

We recommend this for a nice robust filter coffee and it pairs incredibly well with milk or milk alternatives. It can also make a very nice sweet espresso.
